Abstract

This research paper examines the profound influence of social media on the burgeoning popularity of online gaming in India. With the rapid growth of digital platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube, the gaming landscape in India has undergone a significant transformation. This study explores how these platforms facilitate community building, enhance user engagement, and drive marketing strategies that contribute to the widespread adoption of online gaming. Through a mixed-methods approach, including surveys and interviews with Indian gamers and industry experts, the research highlights the pivotal role of social media influencers, the impact of esports promotion, and the dynamic interaction between gamers and developers. The findings reveal both the positive aspects, such as increased visibility and real-time feedback, and the challenges, including online toxicity and privacy concerns. This paper provides valuable insights for gamers, developers, and marketers aiming to leverage social media to further enhance the gaming experience in India.
