Abstract

This research non-experimental, quantitative research, design using exploratory factor analysis was used in the study. This study investigates the involvement of senior citizens in social media platforms, particularly Facebook, focusing on the factors influencing their engagement and its implications on their well-being. Using a quantitative research design with Exploratory Factor Analysis, three important dimensions were revealed: psychological and emotional well-being, social connection and information, and entertainment and self-expression. Findings indicate that social media serves as a vital tool for seniors that can address their emotional needs, reduce their loneliness, foster their social ties, and provide avenues for leisure and self-expression. The research underscores the importance of tailored strategies to bridge the digital gaps, enabling senior citizens to maximize the benefits of social media while mitigating challenges.
