Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic caused a severe impact on higher education as universities closed premises to control the spread of infection. Even though higher education institutions were rapid to replace traditional face-to-face lectures with remote learning, these may have a significant effect in achieving the expected competencies required during the clinical internship training. This cross-sectional study was conducted from the 22nd of March to 4th of April 2021. Participants were Filipino medical laboratory science junior students from selected higher education institutions in the CaLaBaRZon region using an online survey questionnaire. Results of the study showed high-level of self-reported knowledge, moderate risk perception, and high preventive behavioral performance on the COVID-19 pandemic.
